1/3 John Popper's struggles have been very public.
After experiencing chest pains, the 400-pound rock singer was hospitalized in July for an angioplasty and told to lose weight. Then in late August, right before the release of his debut solo album and his first solo tour, Popper's best friend and Blues Traveler bandmate, Bobby Sheehan, died.
"I wanted to put the record off after Bob died," Popper said last month. "But so many people worked on this record. And I really believe it's a good record. I have to work this record.
