1/3 Gophers free safety Delvin Jones isn't in full bloom yet, but he's blossoming.
Consider: On Oct. 9, Jones had a game-high 18 tackles against Wisconsin. In the same game, won by Wisconsin in overtime, Jones missed an assignment that led to an 81-yard scoring play.
Jones is part of a suffocating defense that will be tested Saturday by Ohio State at the Metrodome. Once earmarked for the bench this season, Jones now is developing into a force at free safety.
"I just wanted to show the coaches that I could be counted on and that I could play Big Ten football," Jones said. "I wanted to show everyone what I'm about."
