1/3 Gov. Jesse Ventura today got an unexpected demonstration of the practical meaning of the phrase: "Think Globally, Act Locally."
As he arrived at the U.S. embassy for a private briefing this morning, Ventura was met outside the gates by about 50 American and Japanese college students who both welcomed him and appealed to him to save a Minnesota-Japanese student exchange program.
The students attend college at a Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) system campus in Akita, several hundred miles northwest of Tokyo.
Carrying signs saying "Save Our Campus," the students asked Ventura to intervene back home and preserve the ...
