It was an invitation-only reception sponsored by Minnesota's biggest charitable foundation to honor 10 "unsung heroes," people who gave their time unselfishly to meet basic human needs.
There were speeches and applause and food and lots of conversation. Most of the "heroes" honored by the McKnight Foundation brought family and friends.
Dawn Glaser-Falk also brought a dog.
Dogs are a major part of Glaser-Falk's life. She lives with them, trains and teaches others to train them, rescues them from shelters and puts them to work.
