This was not the type of reception the Minnesota Orchestra had in mind.
But there she was, an angry woman in a red coat in the midst of an open house held by the orchestra to show why a 19,000-capacity outdoor amphitheater on the flatlands of Brooklyn Park is a great idea.
"What don't you guys understand?" she finally said. "We don't want you!"
For months, the many loud voices opposed to building the Twin Cities' first major outdoor amphitheater in Brooklyn Park have caused the biggest ruckus. They've picketed Orchestra Hall, worn protest buttons, hired lawyers and vowed to keep the orchestra out of the city.
