The Vikings' NFC-high Pro Bowl contingent runs nine players deep after all.
Running back Robert Smith was added to the squad on Wednesday as an injury substitution and was scheduled to arrive in time to take part in today's NFC practice. Smith, voted a second alternate, replaces Detroit's Barry Sanders, who was scheduled to start.
Sanders was a no-show after reporting a rib injury. Smith is the second injury substitute added to the NFC's backfield. San Francisco running back Garrison Hearst, who broke a fibula in the Jan. 9 divisional round loss at Atlanta, was replaced by first alternate Emmitt Smith of Dallas.
