Northwest Airlines will have to improve greatly on the compensation pattern it set with pilots and ground workers if it wants a contract agreement with flight attendants, a union official said Friday.
"It's the most tangible part of our contract," said Danny Campbell, secretary-treasurer of Teamsters Local 2000. "Flight attendant pay here is vastly lower than elsewhere in the industry."
Though the union hasn't disclosed its pay proposal, Local 2000 negotiating committee chairwoman Billie Davenport said last week that the Teamsters want to set new industry standards for flight attendant wages through its contract talks at Northwest. For that to happen, ...
