For 26 years Mary Hodsdon and her husband shared a house on Yates Avenue in Crystal, but after he died three years ago the house just didn't seem like a home anymore.
It was too big and too much responsibility. Living there by herself often left Hodsdon feeling lonesome and disconnected from the rest of the world.
"It wasn't nice without my husband," she said. "I couldn't stand to eat alone."
Hodsdon sold her house and rented a condominium for a couple of months. Then, a year and half ago, she signed up to buy a unit in the Gramercy Park senior cooperative in Plymouth, which hadn't even been built yet.
