After months of bruising lobbying, the Minnesota Orchestra appears to be on the verge of formal approval to build the Twin Cities area's first outdoor amphitheater in Brooklyn Park.
After discussing the project past midnight Monday, the seven-member Brooklyn Park City Council decided to postpone until tonight a series of votes that would give the orchestra a 19,000-seat outdoor amphitheater on the city's northern edge.
Supporters of the amphitheater proposal were confident late Monday night that they will prevail.
