Champlin Park High School students will return from spring break Wednesday to a few new rules about race relations.
School officials are developing an "action plan" to stiffen penalties for students involved in racial harassment and are creating focus groups in an effort to get students to talk about race and other issues.
The plan comes in the wake of a fight between a white student and a black student, which in turn led to several other verbal altercations - all part of what Principal David Bonthuis described in a letter to parents and students as the "most difficult time" in the school's seven-year history.
