If there were a most-wanted list of culprits causing gastric distress and worse, these bacteria, or "bugs," would top it. Each year, they sicken millions and kill thousands of people, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. And during this decade, they've been responsible for some of the biggest and deadliest outbreaks of foodborne illness in U.S. history.
