He bears the scars - one of which covers his left forearm - of serving the nation in the Vietnam War. After U.S. soldiers withdrew from his homeland, he continued to fight against communism for his country, for his family and for his freedom.
Like thousands of Hmong and Lao veterans across the nation, Vang is lobbying to gain citizenship under a bill that would allow them to take citizenship tests with the help of an interpreter.
