1/3 Eden Prairie Center, a regional shopping mall that for years has been trying to upgrade its tenant mix, said Thursday that upscale fashion retailer Von Maur will open a two-story, anchor department store there in 2001.
Von Maur, a 127-year-old, family-owned chain based in Davenport, Iowa, said it has been targeting the Twin Cities area for at least one store. Officials especially liked the growth prospects of the western and southwestern suburbs.
"We think it's an extremely good market," Chief Financial Officer Terry Kilburg said.
The retailer has 14 mall-based stores in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and Nebraska. It has been looking to add ...
