1/3 After a decade-long wait, Ramsey County and Arden Hills may soon get a small chunk of the Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant that the Army no longer needs.
The U.S. Senate last week approved a provision allowing the Army to transfer about 4 acres to Arden Hills for a city hall and about 36 acres to to Ramsey County for a public works facility.
The House is expected next week to approve the provision, part of the Defense Department authorization bill. The land will be transferred to the city and the county with the condition that the National Guard also can use the city and county facilities.
