There's a new Sentra in town, one with a tighter ride, a jazzier exterior, a larger interior and a cheaper price.

This time around, the compact car is being built in Mexico instead of Tennessee.

But the really big news is the Sentra CA, a for-California-only model that meets the state's Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (SULEV) standards plus releases zero evaporative emissions. The car is so clean that Nissan is in discussion right now with folks in Sacramento to convince them that the Sentra CA meets the spirit, if not the letter, of the state's alternative-fuel regulations that would allow it to be driven in carpool lanes with only one person inside.
