Jun. 4--Deer Meadows' older one-stories fit a popular price point in Deer Park.
Rising home prices have pushed the starting point of many buyers to around $100,000, says Cindy Cole of Century-21 H.M. Realty-Deer Park.
Deer Meadows meets that level with homes listed for sale from $90,000 to $130,000, Cole says.
Because the houses are older, built primarily in the mid-1970s, they offer more square footage for the dollar than newer houses in surrounding neighborhoods. In the last few years, houses have typically sold from $80,000 to $120,000. Sizes generally range from 1,600 to 2,300 square feet.
