DALLAS _ The New Jersey Devils know hockey history.
They know Stars center Joe Nieuwendyk won the Conn Smythe trophy for producing 21 points in 23 playoff games last season.
"We are well aware of that," Devils center Bobby Holik said Sunday.
The Devils know they are about to enter what has been Nieuwendyk time with Monday's fourth game of the Stanley Cup Finals at Reunion Arena. In the past two series, Nieuwendyk has scored five goals after the third game.
"We know he's capable of scoring goals at any moment," New Jersey coach Larry Robinson said. "You always have to be aware of him."
