PUBLIC HAS RIGHT TO KNOW ABOUT THE SAFETY OF FOOD.(EDITORIAL)(Letter to the Editor)

Freedom of speech permits corporations to support political campaigns (officially blessed by the U.S. Supreme Court) and TV and radio to promote violence, sexual misbehavior and one-sided political propaganda. What about free speech to let consumers know about the food they eat? The government has denied the public the right to know they are being used as human guinea pigs for genetically engineered and/or radiation-treated foods.

According to an editorial in the January-February issue of Multinational Monitor, most food sold in the United States now contains some genetically modified soy or corn, while other countries impose barriers against this hazardous experiment. ...
