THE COSMETICS and toiletries market in Honduras is projected to grow at a 35 percent annual clip over the next three years, from a 1999 sales base estimated at $27.4 million, according to a consular report from Tegucigalpa.

US suppliers are expected to provide at least one-quarter of the total domestic market demand. Guatemala--a major international export assembly center--is the largest supplier to Honduras, followed by the US, then distantly by El Salvador, Mexico and Panama.

Of domestic production volumes manufactured by Honduran-owned companies, 10 percent is exported to other Central American countries.
