Bending to public pressure, the chairman of the Metropolitan Airports Commission said Thursday that Royal Zeno, who has shined shoes at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport for 36 years, will be able to keep his shoeshine operation in the main terminal.
Instead of his current enclosed area with four chairs near the center of the terminal, Zeno would be allowed to have two chairs at two separate locations under the proposal.
Meanwhile, the company whose bid for the business was the original choice of commission staff members - Kentucky-based Leather Care - would get eight chairs: two near the center of the terminal and two more in three of the ...
