He makes it look so easy.
Clay pigeons explode in a puff of black dust when Jon Kruger squeezes the trigger of his .12 gauge shotgun.
"It's just a hand-eye coordination process that's a lot simpler than people think," said Kruger, a soft-spoken Iowa native who lets his shotgun do most of his talking.
Kruger, 37, is considered the preeminent sporting clays shooter in the nation and probably the world. He's a sporting clays national champion, world champion, U.S. Open champion, and first inductee into the new Sporting Clays Hall of Fame in San Antonio, Texas.
