Vince Vaughn stands on the brink of stardom. Or at least, so say many of the critics who have seen "Clay Pigeons." Although flattered by the predictions, Vaughn is not particularly impressed by them. He has spent more time standing on the brink of stardom than most people have spent standing at bus stops.
Vaughn never has made it past that brink because even though his performances draw praise, most of his movies are not mainstream hits. "Clay Pigeons," which opened Friday, seems fit the pattern. It's a dark comic-drama about a man trying to escape from a bad relationship who ends up in the middle of a series of murders. It has generated buzz on the art-house ...
