Christa Niven is a woman who knows what she wants, needs help getting it and isn't afraid to say so.
Niven, 28, of Golden Valley, is executive director of Friday Night Out, a free activities and meals program at First Christian Church in Minneapolis for children of single parents and low-income, high-risk families.
Every Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. parents can drop off their kids and know they'll get a nutritious meal and have a good time in a safe place.
