Anthony Bechik, president of Bechik Products Inc., a mattress-supply company in St. Paul, and a passionate volunteer for many social-service organizations, died of leukemia Monday at United Hospital in St. Paul. He was 81.
Bechik, of Mendota Heights, entered his father's business in the 1930s as vice president and became president in the late 1960s. He had worked until a week before his death, said his daughter Andrea Plaugher, of West St. Paul.
Bechik Products is a major supplier of mattress materials to the country's big mattress-makers, such as Sealy, she said.
