Bargain shoppers can be a tough sell. One woman dared me to tell her something she didn't already know when she came to a class I taught recently on Twin Cities bargains. Despite that, I can be a glutton for punishment as I try to ferret out the places in town that offer good deals.

Many bargain stores, such as the ones below, seem to believe that their best advertising is word of mouth. These are retailers that you hear about through the grapevine or when you pass the storefront in your neighborhood. Most of the rest of us are clueless.
