For nearly a quarter century, James Marsh's customers could count on a regular dose of friendly, personalized service whenever he filled their prescriptions at James Pharmacy in St. Paul. He co-owned the drugstore, gift shop and soda fountain at the corner of Randolph and Snelling Avs. with James Remes.

"He knew every customer that walked in," said Marsh's daughter, Laura Zaso. "We'd deliver to customers and they would bring in cookies; it was their neighborhood pharmacy."

Services were held Wednesday for Marsh, longtime owner of the Highland Park drugstore, who died Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospice after a long illness. He was 75.
