Its the season of giving, but the cable TV industry is making uncharitable comments about its chief competitor - direct satellite TV.
The cable folks aren't modern-day Grinches; they're competitors in a battle over customers, a battle in which the satellite industry recently has scored the most points.
In a news release entitled "The holiday present you'd rather give back," MediaOne, the Denver-based cable TV firm that serves more than 60 percent of the Twin Cities, lists the "top 10 reasons to cross DBS (direct broadcast satellite) off your holiday gift list."
