Article: Elk River loses two assistants in boys' hockey.(SPORTS)

The resignation of longtime assistant coach Marly Glines and a part-time coach has added to the turmoil surrounding the Elk River boys' hockey team. Head coach Tony Sarsland was suspended last week for four games.

Glines has worked for 23 years in the Elk River youth hockey program he now directs. He also has been an assistant and supporter of Sarsland's. Sarsland admitted threatening to break a player's nose and jaw in separate situations after a game on Jan. 17.

After Sarsland was suspended, Glines agreed to continue assisting interim coach Tim Wick, leading some Sarsland supporters to accuse Glines of being against Sarsland. The team played a 5-5 tie ...
