Elk River High School hockey coach Tony Sarsland was suspended Wednesday for the Elks' next four games for making threatening statements to one of his players during and after last Saturday night's game against Champlin Park.
"It was totally unacceptable behavior, and we have suspended Mr. Sarsland for 10 working days and four games," said Dr. David Flannery, Elk River superintendent. The suspension starts with tonight's game against Hill-Murray and will carry through games against Maple Grove, White Bear Lake and Coon Rapids after which the Elks will have four regular-season games left.
