Around the palace in Monaco, they call him Prince Albert Alexandre Louis Pierre Grimaldi, heir to the throne. Around the athletes' village at the Winter Olympics, they just call him Al.

He can't escape that part about being heir to the throne; it's listed as his occupation on his official athlete biography. Still, the Olympics afford Prince Albert of Monaco one of his few shots at being a regular guy. The prince, son of Prince Rainier and the late American actress Grace Kelly, founded the Federation Monegasque de Bobsleigh in 1986. He is competing in his fourth Winter Games, and expects to miss the camaraderie of the Olympics when he bows out after this year.
