1/3 Beetle-maniacs are a phenomenon at least equal to the new Volkswagen Beetle. Wherever you find a "New Beetle" (its official name), you're unlikely to see it clearly because it will be surrounded by otherwise-normal people who get positively maniacal in their quest to get a closer look.
When I saw my first New Beetle at the Chicago Auto Show, I immediately concluded that it would be the most-looked-at car of the year. But I still was unprepared for the response I witnessed during a week's test drive in a bright red Beetle.
