After more than a month of behind-the-scenes negotiations, the Minnesota Orchestra announced Monday that its quest to build a major outdoor amphitheater in the Twin Cities area has moved to Brooklyn Park.
Though the orchestra cautioned that no decision had been made, the disclosure - and an appearance by orchestra officials Monday before Brooklyn Park's City Council - indicated that the north suburban site was now the latest front runner in the metro area's long-running attempt to build an outdoor concert venue.
"We wouldn't be here unless we were very serious," David Hyslop, the orchestral association's president, told city officials.
