If Impressionist painter Claude Monet found himself reincarnated and strolling the halls of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts this month, he probably would not linger in the galleries where 18 of his paintings are on view through July 26 in the show "Monet at Vetheuil:

The Turning Point."

Always image-conscious, he would doubtless check out his own beautifully installed paintings. Then, I predict, he would pop in to see "Netsuke: The Japanese Art of Miniature Carving," an absolutely delightful exhibition of pocket-sized carvings made from polished wood, ivory, jade, coral, amber and even bits of antler.
