Looking for a new job perk? How about very cheap or even free bus rides all over the Twin Cities area for a year?
It could happen as early as this fall for some Minneapolis and St. Paul workers. The people at Metro Transit are asking the Metropolitan Council to approve a plan called Eco Pass that would offer annual bus passes at a large discount to employers, who would pass them on to employees as a free or subsidized benefit.
The council could make a decision on the program by early July, said Kevin Howe, chairman of the council's transportation committee.
