Article: U-14 girls Black team wins Arlington tourney.(Neighbor)

Playing some of its best soccer of the year, the Wheaton Wings under-14 girls Black team captured first place in the Arlington Heights Memorial Classic Soccer Tournament on May 20-21.

The Wings won three games of the round-robin format, outscoring their opponents 8-1 and were awarded the championship based on points.

Game one pitted the Wings against NSA. The Wings dominated possession and the ball rarely crossed the midfield line, yet NSA held tough. The Wings got on the board when Katie Luhrsen's shot to the far post gave the Wings a 1-0 lead at the half.
