Although company executives are pleased with sales and growing consumer interest in their snow skates, Minneapolis-based Sled Dogs Co. is perilously close to financial doom.

With its stock languishing at 40 cents a share, top management at Sled Dogs freely acknowledge that the company is in urgent need of short-term and long-term financial assistance to survive.

Timing is critical as Sled Dogs readies its product line and marketing efforts for the 1997-98 season.
