Dudley Riggs, an entertainment institution in the Twin Cities, has sold his Brave New Workshop in Minneapolis after nearly 40 years of turning out comedy revues and nurturing comics and comedy writers, including many who went on to major careers.
Riggs, who is turning his immediate focus to writing, sold the Workshop for an undisclosed sum to three former performers at his Hennepin Av. theater: Mark Bergren, John Sweeney and Jenni Lilledahl.
They have pledged to continue the tradition of improvisational sketch comedy that Riggs pioneered, and will keep the Brave New Workshop name.
