He was a Guatemalan living in Minneapolis who had a knack for marketing and who worked for an international trade institute.
Together they - and some others - brewed a plan: Why not market gourmet Guatemalan coffee, grown only by small farmers with little direct access to international markets, to the speciality coffee market in United States and Canada?
