Scores of restaurant owners and managers thronged the Capitol halls Tuesday, most of them in business suits and wearing blue lapel stickers demanding "Tip Credit Now."
In opposition were almost as many waiters and waitresses, some in their uniforms, wearing round red lapel stickers urging "No Tip Credit."
Such was the backdrop for the latest round in a fight over minimum wage levels for employees who get tips. It's shaping up as perhaps the biggest battle between labor and business owners in the 1997 Legislature.
