The NCAA got mixed reviews on the status of gender equity among college athletic programs in a five-year study released Monday. The state of gender equity among Minnesota high school athletic programs appears to parallel the NCAA findings: Progress has been made, but parity is far from being attained.
Participation on state high school athletic teams among girls grades 10 through 12 has increased by more than 8,000 in the past nine years, according to figures compiled by the Minnesota State High School League.
