Since Anne Stegner bought her ninth-floor condominium overlooking the Mississippi River and downtown Minneapolis, there have been many changes. Her building was so new when she first saw her home that there was no elevator, just stairs, steel girders and concrete floors.

That was in 1980. In the past 17 years, scenes on the Mississippi have changed, the downtown skyline has several more towers and her neighborhood has given birth to Riverplace and other high- and low-rise condos.

And in the past two years, Stegner has begun remodeling her condominium.
