About the time the name Mike Lynn became a pair of four-letter words to Vikings fans, the term "impact draft" was an oxymoron in relation to Minnesota's NFL franchise.
Unless, of course, the reference was to the impact the Vikings had on Dallas' draft. Thanks to Lynn's infamous Herschel Walker trade, the largest trade in NFL history, the Vikings' drafts of 1990, 1991 and 1992 were gutted and shipped to the Cowboys.
The Vikings retain only one player taken in the top four rounds during that span - 1991 third-round receiver Jake Reed - and the franchise went from 1988 (Randall McDaniel) to 1993 (Robert Smith) without a first-round selection.
