There was a van with an Iowa license plate parked in front of the Metrodome. There were four men in the back, playing cards.
A fellow walking past could not resist asking this question: "Why would you gentlemen possibly follow this team to the Twin Cities? Iowa State has not won a road game since George Bush was president."
The men shrugged and said: "We came to play cards. When are we going to get another chance to play pinochle for 200 miles."
The Iowans went back to looking at the cards, then one man said:
"Besides, if the Cyclones are ever going to win a road game, this could be it."
