The appearance of four books long out of print or, at best, difficult to obtain through normal channels has me scratching my head in wonder and thanking both The Ecco Press and the Quality Paperback Book Club.
The Bad Seed, by William March (Ecco Press, $9.95) was published in 1954, less than six weeks before March died at the age of 60. His tale of a murderously evil little girl, Rhoda Penmark, inspired a brilliantly eerie film and countless imitators. Think of "The Good Son," "The Omen," and "The Exorcist," among others.
