Charges have been dropped in a much-publicized 11-year-old arson case in which a St. Bonifacius woman and two of her children died.
Six murder counts were dropped against David A. Reichenberger, 35, the woman's former boyfriend, although he remains the prime suspect. Investigators are gathering more evidence so he can be charged again, said Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman.
Freeman and police would say little more than that something had changed since Reichenberger was charged in May after a renewed investigation by state and local police. He had been a suspect since the fire on Jan. 12, 1986.
