Will Windows 98 be worth the wait? Overwhelmed with techno-lust, I joined the legion of dauntless beta testers to find out.
In some circles, this makes me a figure of envy. (Computer discussion groups on the Internet bristle with messages from nerds declaring they "will do anything for a copy of Win98.")
Among more rational companions, this makes me a dope.
Software companies send out beta, or test, releases of their products to hold them up for semi-public inspection. Volunteer beta testers find and report bugs in the product, and refinements are made based on their feedback. The process can add months to the release date of the program - Win98 ...
