Barbara Carlson's mayoral campaign shows signs of undermining support for Mayor Sharon Sayles Belton, though a recent poll indicates that she has done little to bolster her own voter strength.
Sayles Belton leads 47 percent to 37 percent, according to a poll sponsored by the St. Paul Pioneer Press, KARE-TV and Minnesota Public Radio (MPR). The poll results, broadcast Tuesday by KARE (Channel 11), indicate an apparent decline in Sayles Belton's voter strength, practically no change in Carlson's support and a growing number of undecided voters.
