Although Minnesota's Scandinavian heritage is well-known and often touted, a new show at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts explores the eastern roots of Minnesota's style.
By combining two separate exhibitions, the New England Hearth and Home show focuses on the often overlooked influence of New England on design, architecture and aesthetics in Minnesota.
The show, which opens Nov. 17, includes "Inherited and Collected: the arts of New England in Minnesota" and a "A Passion for the Past."
