The Gophers might have gone through their most important preparation for Friday's Big Ten opener against Purdue four hours before they took the Williams Arena floor for Sunday's 95-45 rout of winless Florida Atlantic.
The day's unusual noon tip-off required the Gophers to rise early and make their way across campus for an 8 a.m. team meal at a hotel near Williams Arena. The Gophers will repeat that gathering Friday before they play seventh-ranked Purdue in another noon game, this time because ESPN wants them to do so.
