Bob Erdman has been coaching basketball for 39 seasons. He spent 15 of those seasons coaching boys' basketball at Alexander Ramsey High in the Roseville school district. Now, he is winding down his coaching career by completing another two-season stint coaching the boys at Roseville High.

Ziggy Kauls has been the boys' basketball coach at Mounds View since the start of the 1967-68 season. Overall, these gentlemen have coached against one another for 15 seasons in the north suburbs.

"Ziggy's so competitive that he tried to beat you at everything, including getting the team back to the huddle," Erdman said. "Except, he wouldn't tell you it was a contest. ...
